The Caribbean is one hour from Sassari (but watch out for the rules!)
Let's be blunt: La Pelosa Beach in Stintino has nothing to envy the Maldives. Impalpable white sand, very shallow water for tens of meters, and the Asinara Island watching you from the horizon. It is the jewel of North Sardinia.
Precisely for this reason, however, it has become a "limited number" beach. You can't just arrive, spread out your towel, and dive in. If you are a guest at Villa Malvasio, I want you to arrive prepared to avoid nasty surprises at the entrance.
Here are the 3 Golden Rules to not ruin your day:
1. Booking is Mandatory (and must be done in advance!) Forget improvisation. From June 1st to October 31st, access is limited to 1,500 people per day.
- How much it costs: €3.50 per adult (children under 12 enter for free, but must be registered).
- Where to do it: Exclusively on the official website lapelosastintino.com.
- The Insider's tip: Spots run out immediately. If you know your holiday dates, book weeks in advance. Don't wait for the morning itself!
2. The Mystery of the "Mat" (Avoid the fine!) This is the rule that angers tourists the most (because they don't know it). At La Pelosa it is FORBIDDEN to spread your towel directly on the sand. You must mandatorily have a rigid mat (straw or synthetic) to place under your beach towel.
- Why? To prevent precious sand from sticking to your wet towel and being taken away.
- And if I don't have it? They won't let you in, or worse, the guards will fine you and make you remove the towel.
3. Parking and Logistics Arriving early is essential. Parking lots on the coastal road are paid (and not cheap), but they fill up by 9:30 AM. If you stay at Villa Malvasio, my advice is to leave early, enjoy the beach until 1:00 PM, and then run away when the crowd arrives and the sun beats down.
Plan B: What if I don't find a spot? Don't panic. Stintino offers wonderful alternatives where you don't need to book:
- Le Saline: Beach of white pebbles and turquoise sea, beautiful and very long.
- Ezzi Mannu: Wild and natural.
- Coscia di Donna: For those who love rocks and solitary snorkeling.
The strategic advantage of Villa Malvasio Many think that sleeping in Stintino is the best choice. Wrong. Stintino in summer is chaotic, traffic is blocked, and prices are sky-high.
Choosing Villa Malvasio in Sassari as a base:
- You are only 30-40 minutes of smooth driving from La Pelosa.
- Upon your return, instead of chaos, you find our Pool and the relaxation of our garden.
- You can wash away the salt in your Suite with private Jacuzzi.
Book directly from our website to get the best rate. La Pelosa awaits you, but only if you know how to handle it!
