La Pelosa is a dream, but very crowded. Discover the local strategy to visit it stress-free and a 5-day itinerary in North Sardinia from Villa Malvasio

Stintino is the Caribbean of Europe. But do you know how to survive paradise?

La Pelosa beach in Stintino is the icon of Sardinia. Transparent water, white sand, the Saracen tower... It is so beautiful that the whole world wants to see it. And here lies the problem.

Many tourists make the mistake of booking expensive hotels in Stintino thinking they will experience an exclusive holiday, only to discover a reality made of:

  1. Extreme Crowding: Even if the bay is sheltered from the wind, on the beach, you are "elbow to elbow".
  2. Sky-high Costs: Accommodation and parking prices are at high-season rates all year round.
  3. Logistics Nightmare: If you arrive after 11:00 AM, finding parking (even paid) is mission impossible.

The "Local" Strategy: Sleep in Sassari, Move Everywhere

The secret that we locals know well is that you don't need to sleep in Stintino to enjoy Stintino. In fact, it is often limiting.

By choosing Villa Malvasio (Sassari - Li Punti) as your strategic base, you save significantly on overnight stays (budget you can invest in unforgettable experiences) and gain the freedom to move.

Here is our Recommended 5-Night Battle Plan, tested to show you the real North West of Sardinia:

Day 1: "La Pelosa" Mission (Done Right)

  • Booking: Mandatory on spiaggialapelosa.it. No QR Code, no entry.
  • Wake Up: Leave early from Villa Malvasio. In 35-40 minutes you are there. Arrive before 09:00 to enjoy the sunrise colors and park without stress.
  • Tip: Enjoy the sea in the morning. When the crowd becomes unbearable, return to base or move to the inland coves.

Day 2: Asinara (The Real Wild Caribbean) While everyone crowds into Stintino, you make the winning move. From Villa Malvasio, reach the pier for the Asinara National Park. Here you will find coves (like Cala Sabina) that rival La Pelosa for beauty but are immersed in pristine nature, among white donkeys and history. An experience worth the trip.

Day 3: Alghero "On The Boat" (Capo Caccia from below) Instead of looking at the sea from the shore, live it from within. Drive to Cala Dragunara, a small pearl with a panoramic bar. From here you can take the ferry to visit the spectacular Neptune's Grotto, or rent a dinghy for an exclusive adventure. Only by sea can you reach Cala Inferno, a paradise bay protected by high vertical cliffs, and admire the imposing lighthouse of Capo Caccia from below (almost 200 meters sheer drop!).

Day 4: The "Twins" of Alghero (Bombarde and Lazzaretto) If you want fine sand and crystal clear water but a different environment from Stintino, aim for Le Bombarde or Lazzaretto. These are equipped beaches, beautiful and easily reachable from our Villa thanks to the fast road SS291.

Day 5: Culture, Wine, and Sunsets Sardinia is not just sea. Dedicate a day to discovery:

  • Morning: Visit unique archaeological sites like the pre-Nuragic Altar of Monte d'Accoddi (a stone's throw from us).
  • Afternoon: A tasting at the historic Sella & Mosca Wineries.
  • Evening: Walk on the ancient Bastions (Bastioni) overlooking the sea and have a sunset aperitif: the spectacle of the sun "entering" the mouth of the sleeping giant (Capo Caccia) is unforgettable.

Conclusion Don't get "bottled up" in a single expensive location. Choose Villa Malvasio for a stay of at least 5 nights: you will have the pool for relaxation, secure parking, and all of Northern Sardinia at your fingertips.
